Op Safari in eigen land
Safari in the Netherlands! Watching the Big 5 of Natural Park ‘Veluwezoom’ from the terrace of your safari tent. This camping hidden in 4 valleys on the Veluwe was, despite of it’s wonderful setting, a rather dull, fenced place. We proposed to get rid of the 1400 m of fences and let the camping become part of the natural park and turn the wildlife into the attraction! Now you can watch wild boars roaming around at night from the wood-fired hottub.
Another former problem – flooding caused by heavy rain – has turned into a solution. We gave the straightened valleys a more natural shape, gently meandering with wadi’s (dry creeks) on the lowest point. The water does the rest: with heavy rainfall creeks meander through the valleys, when the sun returns what’s left is a long stretched meandering creek of soft sand. Combined with natural play elements these hydrological solution are the biggest playground!
Lower valleys and forested slopes have become one, natural landscape. In the higher, forested edges of the valleys the cabins, tents and pods are positioned so they all have a nice, unique view over the forest and the open valleys where nature is no longer fenced out, but the reason to book a holiday.
