Our Joachim en Anna project has been completed and was immediately honoured with an Honourable Mention at the 10th Nijmegen Architecture Prize 2026. The award itself was won by the residential tower Front, designed by MONADNOCK. The professional jury also granted two Honourable Mentions, one of which went to ๐๐ผ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ต๐ถ๐บ ๐ฒ๐ป ๐๐ป๐ป๐ฎ.
The jury concluded: โThis is a project created with great care and dedication, aimed at improving the quality of life for residents, staff, and the surrounding neighbourhood. The phasing โ constructing while parts of the complex remained in use โ presented a highly complex logistical challenge. In addition, the site features significant level differences, a demanding programme, and a limited healthcare construction budget. Despite this complexity, a clear and coherent plan has been realised that functions successfully on multiple scales.โ
After 10 years of work on this major transformation, this is a wonderful recognition.
